The new Camera Control feature
Resulting from tight integration between hardware and software, Camera Control expands the capabilities of the pro photo system with a new way to launch the camera, take a photo, and start a video recording. This new control incorporates a touch switch that reproduces the click sensation, a high-precision force sensor that detects light pressures, and a capacitive sensor that allows for touch interactions. A new camera preview helps users frame the shot and adjust other control options, such as zoom, exposure, or depth of field, to compose a great photo or video by swiping their finger to Camera Control. Later this fall, Camera Control will introduce a two-stage shutter that will automatically lock a subject’s focus and exposure with a light touch, allowing users to crop their photo without losing focus. In addition, developers will be able to integrate Camera Control with third-party apps like Kino, giving users the ability to adjust white balance and set focus centers, even at different depth levels of their scene.
